4x4xMORE Tag-Along Tour

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th July | 9:00AM

We have two trips running for our Janowen Hills 4WD Park Tag-Along Tour.

Saturday: Your 4WD does not require any modifications to complete this trip - only a high clearance 4WD is required.

Sunday: Your 4WD requires a suspension lift, all-terrain or mud-terrain tyres, front & rear rated recovery points and recovery gear.

Please ensure your car has a full tank of fuel.

Tour Times & Schedule

Saturday Tour (Beginner)

9:00 AM: Meet outside the office up the driveway from the main entrance at Janowen Hills 4WD Park. Look for the Motorama vehicles.

9:30 AM: Commence Tag-Along Tour exploring the park trails as a part of the 4x4xMORE convoy.

1:00 PM: (approx. finish time depending on track conditions) Return to the office at the completion of the tour - you're welcome the afternoon is free for you to explore the park at your own leisure.

Sunday Tour (Intermediate)

9:00 AM: Meet outside the office up the driveway from the main entrance at Janowen Hills 4WD Park. Look for the Motorama vehicles.

9:30 AM: Commence Tag-Along Tour exploring the park trails as a part of the 4x4xMORE convoy.

PLEASE NOTE this trip is only suitable for vehicles with the following:

Suspension Lift
All-Terrain or Mud-Terrain Tyres
Front & Rear Rated Recovery Points
Recovery Gear

What You Need to Know

Getting There

Janowen Hills 4WD Park, 1541 Inverramsay Road, Goomburra QLD 4362

Janowen Hills 4WD Park is located about 20 minutes from the Cunningham Highway.

Take the Cunningham Highway and head over Cunningham’s Gap - about 15 minutes further along the highway, exit onto Goomburra Road at Gladfield.

Take Goomburra Road into Goomburra town centre where you’ll turn right onto Inverramsay Road.

Follow Inverramsay Road for about 12 minutes until you reach the entrance to Janowen Hills 4WD Park. The entrance will be on your right.

Look for the 4x4xMORE vehicles and follow the instructions of the trip leaders who will welcome you and help deflate your tyres prior to going on the tracks.

Important notes

We will be driving in 4WD with some sections requiring low range. There will be 4x4xMORE trip leaders and vehicles positioned through the convoy to assist anybody who needs help selecting the right driving mode or requires instructions on how to tackle an obstacle.
All times (other than departure times) are approximate and are subject to change based on track conditions.
Upon completion of the tour, you're welcome to explore the park at your own leisure.

General Trip Rules

Convoy Procedures

The driver in front should look out for the vehicle following, and MUST wait at all intersections, where the convoy turns, for the following vehicle.
In hilly country or water crossings or other types of obstacles, you MUST allow the vehicle in front to clear the hill or obstacle and the track is clear before you can proceed. Don’t too follow to close.
Never leave the convoy until you have informed the Trip Leader or Tail End Charlie and they have responded.

Trip Etiquette

Arrive at the departure point by the nominated time.
Make yourself known to the trip leader on arrival.
Sign the waiver.
Follow safe driving practices, abide by our rules and by-laws and follow the directions of the trip leader at all times.
If you are not confident or do not wish to attempt any part of the event, it is your responsibility to inform the trip leader.
Always leave gates as you find them.

Using Your UHF Radio

Radio Etiquette

Please be mindful when handling the UHF that you do not inadvertently press the talking button. The operation of UHF radios only allows for one person to be broadcasting at a time, so if you're unknowingly broadcasting your radio, our trip leaders cannot communicate with the rest of the tour group.
Place your radio in a handy spot for all passengers to hear the commentary.
UHF radios are the best form of communication between tag-along tour vehicles.
Please be aware that due to hills, trees and your proximity to the lead vehicle, radio reception will be lost or patchy at times.
