Motorama Vehicle Reviews 2020

Lots of excitement on the new car front at Motorama. We've had 24 new models to review and 2021 is already promising to become another exciting year.

To make it easy for you, we've put our top 10 together right here!

JEEP WRANGLER

There are few cars on the road as purpose built as the Jeep Wrangler. Though it shouldn't be on the tarmac, but rather in the mud, because that's exactly where the Wrangler excels: off road. Let's take it for a rough run!

JEEP GLADIATOR

Take one of the most legendary offroaders - the Jeep Wrangler - add a ute tray and the result is the long awaited Jeep Gladiator. That's the short story, but there is much more going on with the Jeep Gladiator.

MITSUBISHI PAJERO SPORT

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is as much a capable offroader as it is the perfect family car. With a new front and back, it now looks sharper than ever, resembling the rest of the family and true Mitsi style.

NISSAN PATROL

The Nissan Patrol has finally received a well deserved facelift. Since the Y62 model came to the market in 2010, it only got refreshed in 2014, which is over five years ago. With styling out dating so quickly nowadays, Nissan decided it was time to get it ready for the next decade - and it now it definitely is.

KIA SELTOS

Kia Seltos, duh! You must have heard to ad on the radio, featuring the popular song by Billie Eilish. One of the most popular artists of the moment promoting Kia's first car in one of the most popular segments on the market - the small SUV. We took the Seltos for a ride to see how it stands up against some hard-fought competition.

CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 might be the 'smaller' brother to the 2500, but with it's cosmetic updates and upgraded technology it still makes you feel like the King of the Road. In the States they might call it a regular size truck, but locally it dwarves many dual cab utes.

TOYOTA HILUX

An upgraded 2.8L diesel engine, smart safety features, enhanced connectivity and an even tougher look - the Toyota HiLux ute is here. Though it looks fairly the same as the outgoing model, it's stepped-up design built around a sturdier grill, with sharpened LED headlights, make it stand out from the crowd. Plus, it's got more power and extra torque, which is probably the most important upgrade.

TOYOTA YARIS

Great things come in small packages and that is definitely true for the new Toyota Yaris. The small hatchback is huge on safety and style, with all the space you need for your big plans. And you won't believe the low fuel consumption!

MG3

Bang for your buck, that's what MG offers with their compact hatchback, the MG3. It's the entry model and with a price tag from under $17k, you might not expect much, but will be pleasantly surprised when you see what you'll get.

FORD PUMA

Remember the Ford Puma? We're not surprised if you don't, because it was only built for the European market, and that was almost two decades ago. But now there is a new Ford Puma. Instead of a compact hatchback, it's now a crossover SUV. We took it for a spin to see how fa it's come!

AND THE REST OF THE BEST

Mitsubishi

With sharp new looks, improved performance and some new technology included it delivers a complete package. We've taking it for a spin to see why its such a hit.

Toyota

Whether you want to haul the kids around to soccer practice, run a shuttle bus company, or just want a good looking and luxurious people mover, there are few others on the market that live up to the expectations as the Toyota Granvia.

Fitting with the family looks, it doesn't only look more stylish than its predecessor, its driving abilities have also improved together with the comfort level and finish. Add that to the long list of safety features which now come standard, and you know why it's such a popular car.

The Toyota Prado is built to take on Australia’s toughest terrain and now has an upgraded 2.8 litre turbo-diesel engine. While the Toyota Fortuner is big enough for the school roundup and powerful enough to carry every creature comfort with a massive 500Nm of torque, and 150kW of power. We took both to Scenic Rim Adventure Park together with our mates from CAMPR for some offroading adventure and to it to test on some exciting tracks!

Hybrids are popular and the all-new Toyota Yaris Cross forms a crossover between compact city hatchback and a high riding SUV. The question is, does this 5 seat hybrid compact SUV offer the best of both your worlds or neither of both? We've put it to the test!

PART 2

Jeep

Whether its for its rugged and cool looks, sharp pricing and range of capabilities, its hard to pinpoint just one. You can pick a Compass for city use or take an off-road ready one. That's the power of buying a Jeep, and we're about to experience it in all its glory.

Sporty, but comfortable. Futuristic, with a touch of class and with a hint of heritage. It's the combination of all these different aspects that makes the Jeep Cherokee such a clever package.

As the top-of-the-line Jeep especially the Overland we took to Moreton Island with the 4X4XMORE Club is a luxury vehicle like no other, but at the same time won’t be stopped when one of the specialised 4WD-modes is engaged.

Nissan

The Nissan Juke had gained a fresh new look for its second generation. It is now bigger & better - and still just as bold. With new technology and more grown up looks, it's ready for the future.

Kia

A large SUV that puts the focus firmly on family and luxury, that's how Kia describes the all-new Sorento. More spacious, more versatile than before, this Sorento is not only the most high-tech Kia car ever made, but also 'leads the way in SUV design'.

MG

Though it seems the new MG ZST is just an MG ZS with a T added to the end, there is a lot more going on than meets the eye. The changes on the outside might me minor, but it's under the hood where the magic happens. Let's see what has improved on the new 2020 MG ZST.

The big brother in the MG line-up is the HS, an SUV that has to compete in one of the most crowded fields in the car market. Leave it to the HS however to stand out from the crowd and make for a very interesting proposition.

Ford

Ford did something funny with the Escape, which came on the market two decades ago. For two generations it was called Escape, when it suddenly disappeared after ten years to be 'replaced' by the Kuga. Now, another decade later the Kuga is gone again and the Escape is back. All-new, longer, wider and more spacious. It's an Escape like we've never seen before and we're happy to see return on our roads.

COMING IN 2021

This year already proofs to be an exciting one for new car releases. We'll be giving the Toyota Yaris GR and its Rallye edition a go, take the new Nissan Navara offroad and try out the updated Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. And that's just the beginning...
