Motorama Partners with Starlight Children's Foundation

The Starlight Children’s Foundation has been a force for good for over 26 years, helping to brighten the lives of children and teenagers with serious illnesses.

Together with Motorama, the Starlight Express Room at the new Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital is bringing fun back into the lives of those who need it the most.The Starlight Express Room is the only room in the hospital where medical talk is not allowed – letting kids be kids, a haven for any children affected by illness, including brothers and sisters, who are often left with nothing to do when their sibling is sick.

Running the room is Captain Starlight and Starlight’s team of dedicated volunteers who are all serious about having fun. With DVDs, video games, music, face painting, craft and magic – the Starlight Express Room is all for kids, until night time when it turns into a space made for teenagers to hang out and take their minds of being at hospital.

Motorama is one of only three Foundation Partners of the Starlight Express Room, as part of the company’s ethos to support the wider community by giving back.

Motorama Group CEO Mark Woelders shared his thoughts on the partnership, and why it’s important that the company cares.

As a family owned business, we know that it is essential to look to the next generation and do everything to improve their lives,” “Kids in hospital, whether they are being treated or there for a sick brother or sister, need to stop and take time to just be kids – so I think it’s important to support something that lets them relax and take their minds off it,” he said.  

Mr Woelders also re-iterated Motorama’s dedication to operating as a values-driven organisation.“To care is more than putting our name and logo on a sign – our entire company believes in the work that Starlight does, and everyone is dedicated to helping raise awareness of the great work that they do,”

“From having a Starlight Christmas Tree in our showrooms decorated with stars that fundraised by our customers and staff to our corporate partnerships; Motorama is dedicated to supporting the amazing work of the Starlight Children’s Foundation,” he said.

The Starlight Children’s Foundation is the latest in the Motorama Group’s community partnerships, and as one of only three foundation partners will deliver long-term support to the Starlight Express Room at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.
