The Motorama 4x4xMORE Club is organising a trip with a difference. We're going to explore some new areas around Mt Barney in the Scenic Rim. This is not a 4x4 trip, so any stock 4WD or AWD with sufficient clearance can attend.
Departing Bigriggen Park, the team head to Mt May, where we have access to an exclusive park, a stop for morning tea & will head out to the lookout over Mt Barney.
Guaranteed, you'll want to come back to this place again!
The Scenic Rim is one of South East Queensland's hidden gems. A couple of suggestions to extend your time:
Bigriggen Park- Stay and take the kids for a dip in the creek. Cool, flowing water, small rapids - there are hours of fun for the kids (and big kids). Tip: pack an inflatable floating ring or blow up boat to maximise the fun.
Bookings are required directly with Bigriggen, and 4x4xMORE Members will get a 10% booking (not available for online bookings, payment required on arrival)
Rathdowney - It's hard to beat a counter meal in Rathdowney at the 'Rathy Pub. 4.2* from hundreds of reviews... they can't be wrong!
Rathy Pub: 4287/73 Collins St, Rathdowney QLD 4287
Boonah - Take the scenic road back via Boonah. Some great local cafe's, country butchers and produce stores worth checking out.
Mount Maroon - Head out to Lake Maroon for an afternoon swim / walk or picnic lunch. Go for a hike up Mt Maroon.
Mount Barney - Follow your nose out along Upper Logan Road, or the aptly named Barney View Road for some spectacular views of Mount Barney. This is the road right outside the turn off to Bigriggen Park,
