Our Values
The following are Motorama's values. Living by them is a fulfilling pursuit. The following will give you real life points of view from staff and how they live them at work.
Care
This means as a team member when you see that something is wrong, out of place or against our mission, than you do something about it. You may need to bring it to someone's attention. Further to this if you see something positive, say something to congratulate or give support.
"Taking care in your work means having pride in what you do."
Matthew Wood is the work shop foreman at Motorama Holden. He oversees the quality and care in the work. According to Matthew, "Taking care means having pride in my work, striving to ensure that customers get a safe and reliable car from our service the first time."
Chris Carnes has been a business owner in retail food for the last 14 years. He understands the need to care for the customer's needs. He now sells New Mitsubishi's at Motorama and his care for customers and their needs has not changed. Here is what Chris has to say about Caring for Customers. "The questions that I ask customers help me understand a customer's needs. I try to fit their needs with the car they want. I then go about giving them a genuine no pressure Motorama experience."
Can Do
Can do "Cool" Customer Attitude means that we need to find a way to solve any problems that might arise, with their best interests at heart. The way we want to do this is take ownership of their problems, so nothing is a problem for them. Projecting a positive cheerful manner is also important when helping people.
"Show customers that they are number one to us."
Having a can do attitude at work is very important. Here is what Dennis Ho, one of our Toyota new car managers had to say about it. "Having a can do customer attitude is most important. It allows a relationship to have positive responses. And selling is all about caring for people. If you're caring more, you're helping more and you're selling more."
Sam Ellis also has a can do customer attitude in her role as service advisor. Sam explains "We need to show customers that they are number one to us, make them feel that they are the main part of our day, understand what they want and try as hard as you can to provide that for them."
Team Work
Team work means making sure individual goals and needs are developed in relation to the goals of your team.
"We all work to achieving that goal."
No one understands team work better than our Pre Delivery manager Kevin Druery. Here is what Teamwork is about according to Kev. "Team work goes a long way to making you feel happy in your job. For our team the goal is about promptly getting a customers car ready for their delivery, our aim is to provide them with their new car in perfect working condition in a timely fashion as per their requirements, and we all work to achieving that goal."
Team work is also vitally important to Tony Casey who works in the information technology department who look after Motorama Staff. The following is Tony's thoughts on the matter: "Team work is about making sure our team is always available to the Motorama Staff and their working hours. So we need to make sure that as a team we start and finish work at times that always allows one of us to be available to staff. This requires us to communicate and work well with each other and provide a great ongoing service."
Have Fun
Having fun and smiling a lot is a choice thing. This will brighten yours, your team mates and a customer's day. Have a laugh, and take pride and enjoy your work with a smile on your face and see how you feel!
"It feels good to come to work with a smile and leave that way also."
Anya Hunter is the PA to the CEO amongst other marketing activities. She is always up for a laugh and loves to organize and gee people up for fun events. Here is what Anya said about having fun at work. "We are at work for most of our lives so if we can have fun at work it makes our lives a little easier and more enjoyable. It feels good to come to work with a smile and leave that way also."

Continue Learning
Is something that we are always looking to achieve. At Motorama we are genuinely looking to improve and want to develop new ways to provide our customers with a "cool" experience.
"We need to learn and be on our game."
Wade Mitchell is workshop Foreman for Motorama Toyota. He has had to leanr many things from starting as an apprentice to now being workshop foreman. This is what Wade had to say on Continue Learning "we need to continue to learn to keep up with technology. If we don't do this we will be left behind and our customers will not receive the superior service they need on their cars these days"
Dave Williams is the General Manager of the Toyota area and has grown and learnt new roles through the company starting as an apprentice technician. Here is what Dave had to say on the subject. "If you're not learning you're going backwards, because your competitors are learning and will be doing new things with their people in the way they do business. I have been allowed the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and try new jobs and become good at them. In relation to customers, they are not stupid. They are knowledgeable and they are learning from the internet. And we need to learn and be on our game too if we are to meet their needs and get a better result."
Be Green
Future Generations depend on us to conserve now! This is the newest of Motorama's values and being environmentally conscious is a character we want to grow.
"Every little bit helps."
Motorama believes in trying to help the Earth. Not only in the materials we use in our construction but also in how we behave each day. Dave York who helps Motorama Be Green with new projects and procedures had this to say on the subject. "Every little bit helps. Try to be conscious of power use, water use and paper use. On a large scale anything we build in the future will be the greenest and cleanest possible."
